The Healthy Communities of Florida (HCF) Liaison serves as a key public health representative responsible for advancing chronic disease prevention, improving community health environments, and strengthening partnerships that support healthy eating and active living across the county. This position plays a central role in implementing statewide HCF strategies, coordinating with local partners, and integrating chronic disease prevention initiatives into county‑level planning and community programs. The HCF Liaison works collaboratively with state agencies, nonprofit organizations, businesses, schools, and community stakeholders to help Florida residents make informed, consistent choices that promote healthier lifestyles. The incumbent ensures alignment with the state’s workplan requirements and leverages existing resources to maximize reach and community impact. This position also coordinates the County Health Department’s community operations and outreach logistics to enhance access to public health programs, improve community engagement, and ensure consistent health messaging. The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for coordinating but not personally representing the department at all outreach events unless directed by leadership. The position ensures appropriate staffing, event logistics, strategic messaging direction, and required documentation through the department’s Event Tracker App. Enhances community engagement through the Wellness Wave initiative by building partnerships, connecting residents to essential services, and promoting long‑term health and resilience. The role also maintains the Health Education and Promotion (HEP) inventory and collaborates closely with the Public Information Officer (PIO) to ensure alignment of public-facing materials with approved communication standards.
