About The Position

Planned Parenthood of Florida is seeking either an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or a Physician Assistant (PA), to join our talented team in our Gainesville health center. This position requires a Level 2 background screening through Florida's Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse as a condition of employment, pursuant to Chapters 408 and 435, Florida Statutes.

Requirements

  • Current State of Florida Licensure as APRN or PA required, with dispensing authority.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Comfort in discussing sensitive topics related to sexuality, pregnancy, and contraception.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality reproductive and sexual healthcare, including physical exams, patient counseling, contraception management, STI testing/treatment, and abortion-related services.
  • Conduct medical assessments including breast and pelvic exams, Pap smears, and other screenings aligned with PPFL protocols.
  • Ensure thorough documentation, compliance with medical standards, and support clinic productivity and flow.
  • Collaborate with health center leadership and staff to deliver efficient, patient-centered care.
  • Educate patients on reproductive and sexual health topics, including GAHT, pregnancy options, sterilization post-care, and behavioral/primary health services.
  • Refer patients for care beyond the clinician’s scope as needed and manage follow-up procedures.
  • Participate in staff training and contribute to quality assurance efforts.
  • May perform specialized services such as ultrasound, colposcopy, centralized follow-up, or on-call support, if appropriately credentialed and privileged.
