About The Position

This is advanced specialized and highly responsible nursing position requiring an advanced registered nurse practitioner certificate. Provides comprehensive primary and preventative health care including family planning, sexually transmitted disease, primary care, HIV and pediatrics. Provides all care and services within established protocols under standing orders under the direction of a medical practitioner. Is under the supervision of the Community Health Nursing Director. Provides gynecologic, family planning, sexually transmitted disease, pediatrics, and primary care HIV health services. Provides clinical services including conducting health assessments, recording medical and psychosocial history, record symptoms, conduct physical examinations, assessments, develop treatment plans including ordering medications or other therapies, diagnose problems, provide patient education and counseling, referrals and follow-up as necessary including collaboration with other healthcare providers. Order and interpret diagnostic lab tests, monitor medication and initiate appropriate therapies, monitor and alter medications according to variation in client’s response. Assist physician in ongoing management of chronic or acute conditions.

Requirements

  • Willing to work before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency.
  • May include working in a special needs or Red Cross shelter, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.
  • Current authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
  • Will work 16-24 hours per week including every Friday.
  • An active Florida advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license.
  • Willing to travel to different sites in Lake County as needed (Umatilla, Leesburg, Clermont).
  • Must be able to learn and communicate effectively, orally and in writing, in English.

Responsibilities
