About The Position
The Nurse Practitioner is an independent health care provider who works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team. The role is responsible for evaluating and caring for patients by conducting relevant histories and physical examinations, assessing needs, and delivering appropriate treatment. The position provides nursing care and health teaching to an assigned group of adult and geriatric patients in an observation setting. All duties and responsibilities are carried out in accordance with the collaborative practice agreement required by the State of Florida.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Master of Science in Nursing is required.
- Licensed by the State of Florida.
- Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice.
- Extensive knowledge of physical assessment, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and management of acute and chronic patient problems.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients through pertinent history-taking and physical examinations.
- Assess patient needs and deliver appropriate treatment.
- Provide nursing care and health teaching to an assigned group of adult and geriatric patients in an observation setting.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team.
- Perform duties in accordance with the collaborative practice agreement required by the State of Florida.
