Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive health assessments to gather information about patients' medical histories, symptoms, and current health status. Perform physical examinations to identify health issues and formulate appropriate care plans.
• Diagnosis and Treatment: Utilize advanced clinical knowledge to diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses. Prescribe medications, order diagnostic tests, and interpret results to guide treatment decisions.
• Care Planning and Coordination: Develop individualized care plans based on patient needs, considering physical, emotional, and psychosocial factors. Coordinate and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and holistic patient care.
• Health Promotion and Education: Educate patients and their families on preventive healthcare measures, lifestyle modifications, and disease management. Promote health and wellness through community outreach and educational programs.
• Specialized Practice: Specialize in one of the four recognized APRN roles: Nurse Practitioner (NP), Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). Each role has specific responsibilities, such as primary care provision, women's health, mental health, or anesthesia administration.
• Research and Evidence-Based Practice: Stay updated on the latest research and evidence in the field, integrating evidence-based practices into clinical decision-making. Contribute to research activities and participate in the development of healthcare policies and guidelines.
• Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to state regulations and licensing requirements governing APRN practice. Maintain certifications and participate in continuing education to stay current in the field.
