About The Position

The University of Arkansas is seeking an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) to serve in the Primary Care Clinic at the Pat Walker Health Center. This role will provide care to a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff. Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating acute and chronic health issues, educating patients on health matters including preventative care and screening, and collaborating with medical, nursing, lab, and x-ray staff. The position also involves participation in quality improvement processes and professional development. The APRN or PA will work collaboratively with a PWHC Staff Physician, adhering to all prescription protocols, privileging guidelines, and Arkansas State medical licensing board rules. This is a remote essential role, requiring availability during campus closures or emergencies, with the ability to provide telehealth services in compliance with state regulations. Staff are required to take their UA-issued laptops home nightly and each weekend to ensure continuity of care during unexpected closures. Regular, reliable attendance and the ability to maintain positive working relationships are essential job duties.

Requirements

  • At least two years of practice in an outpatient primary care or comparable medical clinic.
  • Applicable equivalencies may be considered for the above qualifications.
  • Licensure from the Arkansas State Board of Nursing or Arkansas State Medical Board.
  • Current certification in BLS (Basic Life Support).
  • Current DEA license.
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Responsibilities
