About The Position

Requirements

Master's or Doctoral Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing OR Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program
Must have current Texas Physician Assistant license or Texas APRN license (AGACNP/ACNP) with RNFA
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Pediatric Life Support (PALS)

Nice To Haves

2 years of clinical experience preferred.
Specialty training with ultrasound interpretation and procedures preferred
Specialty training with central lines, arterial lines and chest tube insertion preferred

Responsibilities

Collaborates with the Trauma/General Surgeons, Critical Care Intensivists and other APPs in overseeing and coordinating the multidisciplinary care delivered to all SICU patients, to optimize quality patient care.
Reviews patient medical charts to assist physicians with diagnosis, treatment and care management.
Makes appropriate patient referrals as necessary.
Monitors guidelines for the management of care and for ensuring that the services are delivered in compliance with the guidelines established by JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group.
Provides care education to patients and families.
Provides evidence-based and compassionate care to all patients assigned to improve patient outcomes and increase patient satisfaction scores.
Maintains a collaborative environment with providers, clinical staff, and support staff.
Supports academic, educational and research endeavors.
Attends Performance Improvement Programs and Peer Review committee meetings; and is an active participant in the process.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
