About The Position

Advanced Practice Providers are encouraged to join our Gastroenterology & Hepatology team at Atrium Health Pineville, where clinical expertise, innovation, and a commitment to exceptional patient care come together. This role involves 100% Adult Medicine, with a schedule of Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 pm, offering no nights or weekends and no call coverage. A half-day administrative time is built into the clinic schedule. The position includes a combination of outpatient clinic responsibilities (one week) and inpatient responsibilities (separate week), managed within a collaborative, physician-led team model. The practice environment includes the Pineville Hepatology Team with 2 Physicians and 3 APPs, and a larger Hepatology Division Network with 7 Physicians and 11 APPs. Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing Practice (for Nurse Practitioner)
  • Active RN license (for Nurse Practitioner)
  • National board certification (for Nurse Practitioner)
  • Acute Care certification required based on population served (for Nurse Practitioner)
  • Graduate of accredited PA program (for Physician Assistant)
  • NCCPA certification required (for Physician Assistant)
  • Eligible for or active North Carolina license
  • Minimum 2 years clinical experience required
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Strong prioritization and decision-making capabilities

Nice To Haves

  • Interest or experience in hepatology preferred, but will consider those with GI, hospitalist or internal medicine experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive hepatology care in clinic and inpatient settings
  • Conduct patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and manage follow-up care
  • Perform inpatient consults and participate in daily rounding when covering service
  • Manage average patient volume of ~12 patients/day in clinic
