Advanced Practice Provider - Cardiac Surgery, Days
About The Position
Monument Health is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant and/or Nurse Practitioner) for an established cardiac surgery practice in Rapid City, South Dakota. Under physician supervision, the APP may assume primary responsibility within their specialty area, in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. The role involves managing selected at-risk or complex patients and patient populations in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members, and planning, coordinating, and providing ongoing care. The schedule includes operating room, rounding, clinic, and call responsibilities. The APP will join a growing team with two experienced cardiothoracic and vascular-trained surgeons. Experience is preferred, but training for new graduates will be considered. The position offers a guaranteed salary and incentive, CME days and dollars, a sign-on bonus, and relocation assistance may be available.
Requirements
- Certification as a Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) through the South Dakota Board of Nursing, or as a Physician Assistant (PA) through the South Dakota Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners.
- Demonstrate knowledge, critical thinking, and skills to plan, coordinate, and provide ongoing care.
- Outstanding patient care and communication skills.
- Motivation and drive.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in the specialty is preferred; training for new graduates will be considered.
- At least 1 year of clinical experience.
- At least 1 year of healthcare experience.
Responsibilities
- Manage selected at-risk or complex patients and patient populations in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members.
- Plan, coordinate, and provide continuing care.
- Work in the operating room, round on patients, provide clinic care, and participate in call responsibilities.
- Assume primary responsibility within the specialty area under physician supervision and applicable regulations.
