About The Position

Horizon Health has opportunities for a full-time (36 hours per week, 3-12 hour shifts 10:30am-11pm) Advanced Practice Provider (APP) role to join our growing Emergency Services Department in Paris, IL. We are a rural organization that includes a critical access hospital, extensive outpatient services, and rural health clinics, but much larger in scope and size than typical rural organizations. We have advanced technology, new offerings for the communities we serve, strong specialty and primary care support, and still have the small-town approach and values that make our organization so special. The APP will work with our Emergency Medicine Physicians to care for patients seeking Emergency Services. This role will assess, diagnose, and treat patients on an acute, urgent to emergent basis. This includes maintaining individual patient records, performing medical examinations, and prescribing medications as well as dealing with acute or specialized medical issues.

Requirements

  • Possess current and valid license from the Illinois Department of Professional Regulations
  • Officially accredited to practice as an Advance Practice Provider
  • Meet all state requirements and obtain valid Prescriptive Authority
  • Maintain currency in all state and national legal requirements to practice.
  • Maintain certification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS
  • Competent in the use of electronic medical records and information systems in providing effective documentation of patient care.
  • Ability to achieve high performance working with diverse groups of individuals and leadership in a team environment.
  • Possess exceptional organizational skills, multitasking ability, and effective communication skills to ensure patients are well informed and the ED is well promoted internally and to the public.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-3 years of experience as an ED RN preferred.
  • Trauma certification recommended.
