About The Position

Advanced Practice Provider – NowCare Urgent Care Join Bayview Physicians Group – Exceptional Opportunity in Coastal Virginia Bayview Physicians Group is a progressive, independent, multi-specialty, physician-led group serving the Hampton Roads region. We are currently seeking Advanced Practice Providers (NPs or PAs) to join our collaborative team of urgent care providers at our NowCare Urgent Cares. NowCare operates seven convenient locations throughout Southeast, Virginia including the areas of Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, and Suffolk, providing walk-in urgent care services seven days a week from 8:00am to 8:00pm. Our team provides high-quality, patient-centered care for a wide range of acute illness and injury in a modern, efficient outpatient setting.

Requirements

  • Must be comfortable providing care to patients of all ages.
  • Must be comfortable providing care to patients of all ages.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a broad range of acute illness and injuries for patients.
  • Perform comprehensive medical evaluations including patient histories and physical examinations.
  • Order, interpret, and manage diagnostic studies, including laboratory testing, EKGs, and X-rays.
  • Develop evidence-based treatment plans and prescribe medications in accordance with current clinical guidelines.
  • Perform common urgent care procedures: Laceration repair (suturing/stapling), Incision and drainage, Splinting and basic orthopedic care, Foreign body removal, Wound care and dressing changes.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians, other APPs, nurses, radiologic technologists, and support staff.
  • Obtain and maintain DOT Medical Examiner Certification (or be willing to obtain upon hire).
  • Perform DOT physical examinations and complete all required documentation.
  • Perform occupational health services, including; Urine drug screens (UDS), Breath alcohol testing, Chain of custody specimen collection and documentation, Return to work and work-related injury evaluations.
