Riverside Medical Group is currently seeking a Full-Time Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at Riverside Primary Care Hidenwood in Newport News, Virginia. As part of our expanding primary care network, we are recruiting a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant who is passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. Requirements
- Masters in Nursing (for Nurse Practitioner)
- Masters Degree (for Physician Assistant)
- State of Virginia Nurse Practitioner License
- State of Virginia Physician Assistant License
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
- Active Virginia Nurse Practitioner license with a specialty designation aligned to inpatient care
- National NP certification in the appropriate specialty: Family NP- FNP-BC or FNP-C
- Active and unrestricted Virginia PA license
- Current NCCPA certification
- Active DEA registration (or eligibility)
- Eligibility for Schedule II–VI prescriptive authority in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Current BLS and ACLS (required for inpatient clinical settings)
- Ability to make independent decisions regarding patient care
- Experienced in diagnosis and treatment of common medical conditions
- Basic working knowledge of managed care and Medicare population
- Pleasant speaking voice and demeanor
- Excellent communication skills
- Professional appearance
- Basic computer skills
Responsibilities
- Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies
- Performs thorough physical examinations and assessments
- Assessment of health status
- Formulate patient care plans
- Performing Pulmonology consultations
- Provides counseling to patients about their care
- Prescribe tests and treatments / analyze the tests and treatments
- Document findings
