About The Position
Boston Medical Center Health System is seeking a highly motivated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Vascular Surgery team at BMC Brighton. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of an integrated academic health system committed to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care while advancing education, innovation, and health equity. The APP will work collaboratively with vascular surgeons, physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary specialists to provide comprehensive care for patients with a wide range of vascular conditions in the outpatient settings.
Requirements
- Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Current Massachusetts NP or PA license (or eligibility)
- DEA registration (or eligibility)
- BLS certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team
Nice To Haves
- Experience in vascular surgery, general surgery, cardiovascular surgery, or critical care
- Experience assisting in the operating room
- ACLS certification
- Experience with Epic electronic medical record
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with arterial, venous, and lymphatic disease
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with vascular surgeons
- Manage pre-operative and post-operative patients
- Provide patient education regarding disease management, wound care, medications, and lifestyle modifications
- Coordinate care with primary care providers, specialists, nursing staff, rehabilitation, and case management
- Document clinical encounters accurately within the electronic medical record
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental meetings
- Support research and educational activities as appropriate
