About The Position

Children’s Minnesota is seeking a Casual Float Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join their Primary Care Float Pool. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy variety, excel in outpatient pediatrics, and desire flexible PRN work while providing support where needed. As a casual float APP, you will serve a diverse pediatric primary care network across urban and suburban outpatient clinics, gaining exposure to a wide range of patient needs and community experiences within a comprehensive, coordinated care model. The position involves delivering comprehensive pediatric primary care, including well-child visits, walk-in care, and community outreach. You will care for children with complex medical and psychosocial needs, managing acute and chronic conditions, and addressing nutritional, developmental, and behavioral health concerns. This PRN position operates Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:30 pm, with locations across the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area to provide coverage for various needs.

Requirements

  • As an APRN: Current MN RN/APRN License
  • As an APRN: Nationally Board Certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with either the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
  • As a Physician Assistant: Master’s Degree / Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • As a Physician Assistant: Physician Assistant Certification by the NCCPA Certification Board and MN Medical Board license required.
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain DEA registration.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Maintain current BLS certification.
  • Successfully complete Hospital and Payer credentialing process required

Nice To Haves

  • Doctorate degree in Nursing Practice preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive pediatric primary care services across a variety of clinical settings
  • Provide well-child care, walk-in care, and participate in educational and community outreach programs
  • Care for children with complex medical and psychosocial needs, including management of acute and chronic conditions
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic childhood illnesses
  • Support nutritional, developmental, and behavioral health concerns
