Join the University of Chicago Medicine as an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) for our Oncology Rapid Assessment Clinic (ORAC). This role offers a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000.00 and relocation assistance. The Advanced Practice Provider will be responsible for comprehensive direct patient care management, exercising autonomous decision-making in assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of delegated medical treatments. They will provide healthcare and patient services, including educational, research, and clinical support, as well as administrative activities under the direction of Cancer Service Line leadership. The APP will have acquired the necessary knowledge, skills, and judgment to deliver high-quality care to hematology/oncology patients. The Oncology Rapid Assessment Clinic (ORAC) is an APP-staffed clinic that cares for cancer patients requiring urgent, same-day/next-day assessment and treatment. Hematology Oncology patients often need acute care for symptoms of malignancy and side effects of cancer treatments. After an orientation period, the APP will work autonomously and collaboratively with the ORAC APP team, utilizing evidence-based practice in close collaboration with University of Chicago heme/onc faculty, APPs, pharmacists, and nurses. This candidate will be trained in managing both hematologic and solid tumor malignancies, as well as oncologic emergencies.
