The University of Chicago Medicine is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) for their Oncology Rapid Assessment Clinic (ORAC). This role offers a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance. The APP will be responsible for comprehensive direct patient care management, including autonomous decision-making in assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of delegated medical treatments. They will provide healthcare and patient services, including educational, research, clinical support, and administrative activities, under the supervision of Cancer Service Line leadership. The APP must possess the knowledge, skills, and judgment to deliver high-quality care to hematology/oncology patients. The ORAC is an APP-staffed clinic for cancer patients needing urgent, same-day/next-day assessment and treatment for symptoms of malignancy and side effects of cancer treatments. After orientation, the APP will work autonomously and collaboratively with the ORAC APP team, utilizing evidence-based practice in conjunction with University of Chicago heme/onc faculty, APPs, pharmacists, and nurses. Training will cover the management of both hematologic and solid tumor malignancies, as well as oncologic emergencies.
