About The Position

The new Psychiatric Emergency Center (PEC) is the only one of its kind in Tarrant County and offers significantly more care spaces than the current facility. A highly skilled multidisciplinary team, including Psychiatrists, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), nurses, social workers, and support personnel, provides 24/7 services for individuals experiencing mental health crises. The PEC offers patient-centered care, assessing individuals and their situations to coordinate the best possible treatment plans, including evaluations for admission to an Acute Inpatient Unit.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing with PMHNP certification OR Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working as an advanced practice provider in a psychiatric setting.
  • Must have current Texas Physician Assistant license or Texas APRN license with PMHNP certification.
  • DEA Certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to patient safety, efficiency, and equitable healthcare delivery.
  • Proficiency in the use of electronic health records (EHR).

Responsibilities

  • Psychiatric Triage
  • Psychiatric Evaluation
  • Short term interventions including observation, monitoring and stabilization of acute crisis
  • Referral services that meet the needs of the individual person
  • Evaluation for admission to an Acute Inpatient Unit
