About The Position

Texas Digestive Disease Consultants (TDDC) - Southlake, a member of GI Alliance (GIA), is seeking an enthusiastic Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join their friendly, dynamic team in a busy Gastroenterology practice. This role provides coverage in Grapevine, TX at Baylor Grapevine Hospital. The practice has been serving the community for over 20 years and fosters a team approach to enable the PA/NP to expand their skillset and knowledge. The PA/NP will be an integral member of the TDDC Southlake practice, providing hospital coverage and working alongside a physician partner to contribute to the practice's strong clinical presence and coordinated patient care efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hospital coverage at Baylor Grapevine Hospital.
  • Work alongside a physician partner.
  • See new patients (always in conjunction with a physician) and follow-up patients.
  • Conduct patient consults and write follow-up notes.
  • Ensure all plans of care are reviewed by the physician on staff.
  • Elicit detailed patient histories and conduct physical examinations.
  • Document findings.
  • Counsel patients and families on health conditions and treatments.
  • Support, educate, and guide office clinical staff (Nurses, MAs) and office staff (schedulers) regarding patient care.
  • Determine tentative diagnoses and order appropriate diagnostic tests.
  • Interpret pathology findings, imaging, laboratory, and other results.
  • Counsel patients and families on endoscopic indications, findings, potential complications, and expected outcomes.
  • Achieve proficiency in the practice and EMR.
  • Collaborate with referring physicians and offices, hospitalists, surgical partners, and other specialties for optimal patient care.
  • Maintain active licensure with the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners.
  • Participate in all continuing education, training, and other requirements for credentialing at assigned medical facilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
