About The Position

Seattle Children’s Hospital is seeking a dedicated and versatile Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to join our world-class Orthopedics & Sports Medicine team. In this role, you will serve as the a lead clinical decision-maker, assuming primary responsibility for the acute management of pediatric musculoskeletal injuries. You will provide expert, front-line care for patients requiring immediate intervention—bridging the gap between injury and recovery without the need for an ER visit.

Requirements

Master's degree in nursing with a concentration in a pediatric or family nurse practitioner program OR graduate of a nationally accredited physician assistant program.
One year work experience in a pediatric or family focused clinical area.
Active, unencumbered registered nurse and advanced registered nurse practitioner licensure in the State of Washington (for Nurse Practitioners).
Current national certification as a pediatric or family nurse practitioner (for Nurse Practitioners).
Active, unencumbered physician assistant licensure in the State of Washington (for Physician Assistants).
Initial certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (for Physician Assistants).
Active Drug Enforcement Authority registration.
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Professionals is required at time of hire and to be maintained continuously throughout employment. American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) will also be accepted in lieu of BLS for Healthcare Professionals.
Active clinical privileges as an Allied Health Provider at Seattle Children's Hospital must be secured prior to time of hire and must be maintained in good standing and in compliance with all medical staff bylaws, continuously throughout employment.

Responsibilities

Provide direct care and assume primary responsibility for clinical management in the urgent care.
Obtain patient histories, perform physical examinations, order/interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and develop evidence-based treatment plans.
Partner with department attending physicians, specialists, and other health care team members to deliver safe, high-quality care.
Direct or participate in case management and continuing care to ensure seamless patient transitions.
Contribute to departmental quality improvement projects and participate in education and research efforts for patients, families, and the medical team.
