The Medical College of Wisconsin's Department of Radiation Oncology is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant with pediatric and adult certification to provide radiation oncology medical care services within a hybrid setting. This position is located in Milwaukee, WI at our Froedtert Campus. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as part of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching as a member of the Department of Radiation Oncology and Children’s Wisconsin. Collaborates with providers to deliver treatment-related care, side effect/toxicity management, and care coordination for pediatric Radiation Oncology and Children’s Wisconsin patients, as well as adult CNS patients. Partners with interdisciplinary teams to diagnose and treat conditions requiring radiation oncology intervention across ambulatory and inpatient settings. Performs comprehensive histories and physical exams; orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic tests; develops and monitors pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical treatment plans; and performs appropriately credentialed procedures. Documents accurately and timely within the EMR, including progress notes, procedure notes, and admission/transfer orders. Educates and counsels patients and families on disease processes, treatment plans, preventive care, and promotes continuity of care across the continuum. Meets all regulatory, privileging, and training requirements (including CMS and Joint Commission standards) while maintaining ongoing professional development and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
