About The Position

The Medical College of Wisconsin’s Division of Vascular & Endovascular Surgery is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide specialty medical care within the Outpatient / Ambulatory setting. This position is located in Wauwatosa, WI at the Froedtert & MCW Center for Advanced Care. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching.

Requirements

Advanced Practice Nurse: Master’s Degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited organization.
Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC-PA-accredited organization.
Wisconsin RN License
Wisconsin Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber License
American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
DEA registration
Nurse Practitioner Certification from a nationally accredited professional nursing organization
Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP (AGACNP)
Adult-Gerontology Primary Care NP (AGPCNP)
Family NP (FNP)
Wisconsin Physician Assistant License
Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in vascular surgery or a surgical subspecialty preferred, including ambulatory clinic management, inpatient consultative care, perioperative management, and operating room support.
New graduates may be considered with relevant clinical training.

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality care to vascular patients in the outpatient / ambulatory setting, including pre and post-operative care, routine surveillance of vascular conditions, and wound care.
Predominantly provide care to adult patients, though will occasionally provide care to patients under age 18.
See and care for patients on an independent clinic schedule with the ability to quickly and easily collaborate with attending vascular surgeons as needed.
Frequently collaborate with other specialty care teams to provide care including Vascular Medicine, Interventional Radiology, Cardiac Surgery, Infectious Disease, and Physical Medicine & Rehab.
