About The Position
The Medical College of Wisconsin’s Department Sports Division is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide specialty medical care within the OR and specialty clinic setting. This position is located in Milwaukee and Menomonee Falls, WI. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching.
Requirements
- Advanced Practice Nurse/ Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner Wisconsin RN License
- Wisconsin Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber License
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- DEA registration
- Nurse Practitioner Certification from a nationally accredited professional nursing organization
- Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP (AGACNP)
- Adult-Gerontology Primary Care NP (AGPCNP)
- Family NP (FNP
- Physician Assistant Wisconsin Physician Assistant License
- Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- DEA registration
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience of 2+ years working as an APP or first assist experience is preferred, not required.
- Highly desired previous experience in acute care, surgical specialties or medicine teams such as hospitalist, internal medicine, perioperative, cardiology and emergency.
Responsibilities
- Act as first assist to multiple sports surgeons
- Independent Ortho Now clinic and sports access clinic time
