A qualified registered nurse, practicing within the scope of the Tennessee Nurse Practice Act, who managed medical aspects of patient care through written medical protocols jointly developed by the nurse and sponsoring M.D. This role provides general medical care and treatment to patients in a primary care setting, performing physical examinations and preventive health measures. The provider is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of acute, chronic, and long-term healthcare issues, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing comprehensive patient care plans in collaboration with physicians and other health professionals. The role also involves prescribing medications and treatments, maintaining accurate medical records, and educating patients and families about health promotion and preventive care. The provider will work collaboratively with medical staff, share knowledge with colleagues, and foster professional relationships. Continuous learning and assimilation of new knowledge into practice are expected, along with responsible use of hospital resources and efficient time management. Accurate recording of patient charges for billing is also a key responsibility.
