Performs responsible clinical care in collaboration with the unit physician and under approved protocols, manages the medical aspects of care in the observation, assessment, diagnosis, intervention, evaluation, rehabilitation, care and counsel, and health teachings of persons who are ill, injured or infirm or experiencing changes in normal health processes; and in the promotion and maintenance of health of prevention of illness in a clinical setting. This role involves obtaining medical histories, organizing relevant data, performing physical examinations, and suggesting pertinent laboratory, radiographic or other studies. The provider will perform preliminary reviews of radiographs, laboratory data, ECG’s and other relevant clinical information, and formulate and order therapeutic regimens. They will document histories, physical examinations, and relevant clinical information, ensuring adequate documentation of existing medical conditions and medically classifying patients. The role includes monitoring treatment progress and protocols, counseling patients on preventive medicine, reviewing medical records, and providing patient counseling and health instruction. The provider will also serve as a representative of the physician in delegated matters, engage in interdisciplinary coordination, and document all health care encounters in the electronic medical records.
