About The Position

The Infusion Advanced Practice Provider (APP)—Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant—provides comprehensive direct care and assumes primary clinical management for a diverse patient population in our ambulatory infusion setting. In this role, you will act as a critical clinical conduit, seamlessly bridging communication between the patient’s primary care team and the infusion nursing staff. You will also serve as the frontline responder for infusion-related emergencies, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and care quality. Shift Structure: 10-hour shifts, scheduled Monday through Saturday.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in nursing with a concentration in a pediatric or family nurse practitioner program OR graduate of a nationally accredited physician assistant program.
  • One year work experience in a pediatric or family focused clinical area.
  • Active, unencumbered registered nurse and advanced registered nurse practitioner licensure in the State of Washington (for Nurse Practitioners).
  • Current national certification as a pediatric or family nurse practitioner (for Nurse Practitioners).
  • Active, unencumbered physician assistant licensure in the State of Washington (for Physician Assistants).
  • Initial certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (for Physician Assistants).
  • Active Drug Enforcement Authority registration.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Professionals is required at time of hire and to be maintained continuously throughout employment. American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) will also be accepted in lieu of BLS for Healthcare Professionals.
  • Active clinical privileges as an Allied Health Provider at Seattle Children's Hospital must be secured prior to time of hire and must be maintained in good standing and in compliance with all medical staff bylaws, continuously throughout employment.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain detailed patient histories, perform physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and develop comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Rapidly assess and manage infusion-related emergencies, including allergic and adverse reactions.
  • Direct and participate in case management and continuing care.
  • Collaborate, consult, and refer patients to department attending physicians, specialists, and other multidisciplinary healthcare team members.
  • Access chest ports for specialized procedures, including intraventricular infusions for patients with Batten’s disease.
  • Contribute to organizational and departmental continuous performance and quality improvement (QI) projects.
  • Participate in clinical research and educational initiatives for patients, families, and the healthcare team.
