About The Position

The Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a key member of the Heart & Vascular Institute care team, delivering high-quality, evidence-based cardiovascular care across inpatient and/or outpatient settings. The APP practices collaboratively with cardiology physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to support excellent clinical outcomes, continuity of care, and patient-centered decision making. The APP evaluates patients, establishes diagnoses, and develops and implements treatment plans consistent with medical staff privileges, collaborative practice agreements, and organizational standards. This role emphasizes clinical excellence, professional judgment, and compassionate care delivery. The APP works in partnership with physician leaders, nursing, and administrative teams to support quality initiatives, patient safety efforts, and practice improvement activities. The APP maintains clinical competence through continuing education and contributes to a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited program or grandfathered per NJ law (for Nurse Practitioner)
  • Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program (for Physician Assistant)
  • Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse licensure in the State of New Jersey with national certification in area of specialty (for NP)
  • Current Physician Assistant license in the State of New Jersey with NCCPA certification (for PA)
  • Eligible for and granted clinical privileges by the Medical Staff Office
  • BLS and ACLS required at time of hire; must be American Heart Association (AHA) certified

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience in cardiology, internal medicine, critical care, emergency medicine, or related specialty preferred
  • Prior cardiology APP experience strongly preferred but not required for candidates with strong foundational clinical training
  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems preferred; training provided
