About The Position

Our Emergency Department at UW Medical Center-Montlake has an opportunity for an Advanced Practice Provider to see patients in the Fast-Track stream of care as well as exposing them to high acuity challenging patients. The ED Advanced Practice Provider is a member of the inter-professional team that includes attending physicians, residents, pharmacists, medical and pharmacy students and registered nurses. Evaluate and treat acute and minor illnesses and injuries presenting to the ED. Serve as backup for Campus Health for employees with blood-borne exposures or job-related injury. Function independently in our vertical care area. Minor procedures including but not limited to laceration repair, incision and drainage of abscesses, splint applications, etc. Proficient assessment of emergent/urgent complaints to determine complexity and stability of patients. Functioning as a member of a multi-disciplinary health care team within the Emergency Department. Close collaboration with academic Emergency Medicine attending physicians to provide excellent care to a complex patient population at our tertiary referral center.

Requirements

  • Current and unencumbered license as an Advance Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) OR Physician Assistants (PA) in the state of Washington
  • ARNP must have a WA state RN license to practice or MSL
  • Graduated from an accredited school of Nursing (ARNP) or a accredited program for Physician Assistant studies (PA)
  • Must be board certified; ARNP certified by ANCC or AAPP; PA certified from NCCAP
  • ED Fellowship trained or equivalent ED/Urgent Care experience.
  • PA candidates: Emergency Medicine CAQ
  • BLS, ACLS and PALS certification.

Responsibilities
