About The Position

VIP Pain, PRC Acute and Sub-Acute Pain Management Division, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our growing Jacksonville team. This is an opportunity to build specialized expertise in pain management while developing greater clinical autonomy. Our physician-led, APP-driven model combines structured training, mentorship, and physician support with increasing independence as competency is demonstrated. Experienced pain providers and APPs looking to transition from urgent care, emergency medicine, critical care, orthopedics, neurology, rehabilitation, hospital medicine, or post-acute care are encouraged to apply. VIP Pain delivers acute and sub-acute pain management directly within post-acute healthcare settings, allowing APPs to manage patients during critical stages of recovery. Our teams provide care in Nursing Homes, Long-Term Acute Care Facilities (LTACs), Inpatient Rehabilitation Facilities (IRFs), Hospitals, and Rehabilitation Centers. Providers care for patients recovering from surgery, orthopedic injuries, fractures, trauma, spine procedures, joint replacement, hospitalization, and other acute or sub-acute conditions.

Requirements

  • Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Eligible to practice in Florida
  • Strong clinical assessment and treatment-planning skills
  • Medication management/prescribing experience
  • Ability to manage medically complex patients
  • Strong communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
  • EMR/documentation proficiency
  • Valid FL licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Proven experience in pain management, neurology, or spine care
  • Strong clinical assessment and procedural skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care
  • Knowledge of electronic health record systems and documentation standards

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive histories and physical examinations
  • Evaluate and manage acute and sub-acute pain
  • Assess post-surgical, orthopedic, spine, neurological, and rehabilitation patients
  • Develop individualized pain-management treatment plans
  • Prescribe, manage, and adjust medications within scope of practice
  • Prepare longer-duration pain prescriptions for physician review/signature when required
  • Order and interpret appropriate laboratory and diagnostic studies
  • Monitor treatment response, medication effectiveness, and patient recovery
  • Recognize changes in condition and adjust treatment plans appropriately
  • Educate patients and families regarding pain management, medications, recovery, and rehabilitation
  • Collaborate with physicians, hospitalists, nursing teams, rehabilitation professionals, and facility staff
