About The Position

Seeking a full time Advanced Practice Provider for the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care unit at UH Cleveland Medical Center. The APP will manage post cardiac surgery patients both planned and emergent, durable and non-durable mechanical circulatory support, and lung and heart transplant patients with opportunity for procedural experience. The schedule is rotating days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Nurse Practitioners must be acute care.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree from an accredited PA educational program (Required)
  • (MSN) Master's Degree in Nursing (Required)
  • Demonstrated leadership skills. (Required proficiency)
  • Demonstrated skills in interpersonal relationships. (Required proficiency)
  • Computer skills to access patient medical data from UHHS mainframe. (Required proficiency)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook. (Required proficiency)
  • Physician Assistant (PA) (Required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)
  • Passed the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (Required)
  • Practice with a supervising physician (Required Upon Hire)
  • Maintain national PA Certification (Required)
  • Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required)
  • Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the State of Ohio (Required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)
  • Current APRN License (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years as a Physician Assistant (Preferred)
  • 1+ years as a Nurse Practitioner (Preferred)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (Preferred)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (Preferred)
