About The Position

Monument Health is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join an established cardiology practice in Rapid City, SD. This role involves a varied schedule including clinic duties, hospital call/rounding, cardiac prep unit, and cath lab responsibilities. The APP will work under physician supervision, potentially assuming primary responsibility for managing selected at-risk or complex patients and aggregate patient populations in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members. The position requires the ability to plan, coordinate, and provide continuous care, demonstrating strong knowledge, critical thinking, and skills. The practice is part of a growing cardiology team, including 5 interventional cardiologists and 7 non-interventional cardiologists, and will primarily support general and interventional cardiology services. While experience is preferred, training for new graduates will be considered. The current schedule is configured to accommodate a 4-day work week.

Requirements

  • In South Dakota Certifications - Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) - South Dakota Board of Nursing or Physician Assistant (PA) - South Dakota Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners
  • Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Responsibilities

  • Under Physician supervision, the Physician Assistant and/or Nurse Practitioner may assume primary responsibility in their respective specialty area according to federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.
  • Responsible for management of selected at risk or complex patients and aggregate patient populations in collaboration with physicians, nurses and other Healthcare team members.
  • Must demonstrate the knowledge, critical thinking and skills to plan, coordinate and provide care on a continuing basis.
  • Take on a varied schedule that includes rotation through clinic, hospital call/rounding, cardiac prep unit, and cath lab responsibilities.
  • Primarily support the general and interventional cardiology services.
