The Department of Medicine, Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology and Nutrition at the University of Washington invites applications for an Advanced Practice Provider (APP), which is a faculty position at the rank of Teaching Associate with an anticipated start date of September 2026. We seek applicants who demonstrate commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. The successful candidate will join our faculty on a full-time basis for a twelve-month service period [July 1-June 30]. The APP will provide consultative specialty diabetes care to patients in coordination with Endocrinologists, certified diabetes educators, and ancillary support staff at the University of Washington Medicine Diabetes Institute (UWMDI). The APP is responsible for providing patient care independently and collaboratively with appropriate privileges, including initial and ongoing assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patient’s medical, physical and psychosocial status. The APP will provide patient and/or family with health education, counseling and referrals to other health professionals and community resources as appropriate. Participate as a key member of the interdisciplinary team through the development of collaborative and innovative practices and evaluation of patient care outcomes. Evaluate quality outcomes for the UWMDI through participation in the development of quality indicators.
