The University of Washington Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology is seeking a full-time ARNP or PA at the rank of Teaching Associate. The Advanced Practice Provider (ARNP or PA) will be deployed at UWMC and Fred Hutch Cancer Center (FHCC) at the University of Washington Medical Center – Montlake (UWMC-ML) and will provide hematologic/oncologic related evaluation and medical management of patients within the Platinum Service. The Platinum Inpatient ARNP/PA-C is a nurse practitioner or certified physician assistant who provides evaluation and medical management to inpatient medical oncology and hematology patients at the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC). The ARNP/PA-C provides care to patients admitted to the hospital for cancer-directed therapy, acute illness, and complications related to therapy, underlying disease, and concurrent illness. Performs clinical assessment and management of medical needs, performs procedures, participates in goals-of-care discussions, and consults with professional peers working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care. All clinical responsibilities are performed within the scope of practice, institutional privileges and under the supervision of an attending physician. This position is hired at 1.0 FTE and Teaching Associates in the Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.
