About The Position

The University of Washington’s Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is seeking an ARNP/PA for full-time (1.0) at the rank of Teaching Associate. Teaching Associates hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The ARNP/PA is a member of the inter-professional gastroenterology and hepatology team that includes attending physicians, gastroenterology and hepatology trainees, multidisciplinary specialists (social workers, dieticians, pharmacists, psychiatrists) , other physician assistants, and nurse practitioners providing care for patients with gastrointestinal and liver disease in the inpatient and outpatient settings. A successful applicant will provide care independently and collaboratively with other team members. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. The positions will provide clinical services at the UWMC-Montlake with a focus in Hepatology and Transplant Hepatology. Duties will include providing hepatology consultative services for outpatients including General Hepatology, Transplant Hepatology and Liver Tumor clinics. The hepatology team includes attending physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners, as well as clinic staff including nurses and medical assistants.

Requirements

  • Graduate Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or graduate of an accredited PA program, or foreign equivalent.
  • Current and valid licensure as an ARNP or PA-C in Washington State.
  • Nationally certified ARNP/PA with DEA.
  • Proven excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and clinical expertise in the care of patients with chronic and acute gastrointestinal and liver illnesses.

Responsibilities
