About The Position

The Advanced Practice Provider (APRN/PA) provides nursing and medical services to individuals, families, and groups, focusing on health promotion, disease prevention, and the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic diseases. This role involves autonomous work as well as collaboration with various professionals to diagnose and manage clients' health care problems. The provider will maintain an annual protocol with a supervising physician as required by state regulations and perform duties in accordance with Tampa General Hospital's mission, vision, and values. The position offers high-quality, patient-centered, comprehensive primary care services in a collaborative outpatient setting.

Requirements

  • Current active licensure as Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the State of Florida
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and electronic medical records (EMR) systems, preferably Epic
  • Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Outstanding customer service and conflict resolution abilities
  • Demonstrates current knowledge and level of expertise utilizing evidence and theory-based practice, infection control standards and clinical evaluations in providing care to clients in clinic or hospital-based settings, as evidenced by following established protocols

Nice To Haves

  • Family medicine training preferred
  • Primary care experience in a physician office strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality, patient-centered, comprehensive primary care services in a collaborative outpatient setting
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions, including ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans
  • Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, health maintenance, and lifestyle changes
  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare team members to ensure high-quality care
  • Requests, interprets and evaluates diagnostic and laboratory tests and takes appropriate actions as medically indicated in accordance with departmental protocols
  • Identifies and reports any specific signs and symptoms, problems or potential problems requiring further assessment, communication and/or intervention to promote positive outcomes
  • Works autonomously as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage clients' health care problems
