About The Position

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides general and specialty medical and/or surgical services to gynecology patient population emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention as well as diagnosis and management of acute and chronic diseases. The APP will have an opportunity to practice collaboratively within their established scope. All TGH team members are responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values in accordance with Tampa General Hospital.

Requirements

  • Current licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant in the State of Florida.
  • Demonstrates current knowledge and level of expertise utilizing evidence and theory-based practice, infection control standards, and clinical evaluations in providing care to clients in clinic or hospital-based settings, as evidenced by following established protocols.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and electronic medical records (EMR) systems, preferably Epic.
  • Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Outstanding customer service and conflict resolution abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of gynecologic and urogynecologic conditions, treatment modalities, and perioperative management preferred.
  • Women’s health, gynecology, urogynecology, surgical, or related clinical experience preferred.
  • Experience with outpatient procedural support, perioperative management, or women’s health clinic workflows preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and manage treatment for patients with a variety of gynecologic and urogynecologic conditions including clinic consultations for new patients and follow-up visits.
  • Perform comprehensive evaluations for patients with pelvic floor disorders, urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, recurrent urinary tract infections, and other gynecologic concerns.
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative evaluation and management of gynecologic and urogynecologic surgical patients.
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams regarding patient management, treatment planning, and continuity of care.
  • Requests, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic and laboratory tests and takes appropriate actions as medically indicated in accordance with departmental protocols. Identifies and reports any specific signs and symptoms, problems, or potential problems requiring further assessment, communication, and/or intervention to promote positive outcomes.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, surgical procedures, and preventative health measures.
  • Works autonomously as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage clients’ healthcare problems.
  • Participates in quality improvement, patient satisfaction, and clinical workflow initiatives to support excellence in women’s healthcare delivery.
