About The Position

Baptist Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join their BHMG Cardiology Facility APPs team. This is a full-time position with a night shift schedule (7P-7:30A). The APP will work in collaboration with supervising physicians to directly manage the care of complex acutely ill patients. Responsibilities include performing patient assessments, H&Ps, taking medical histories, ordering and interpreting tests, developing diagnoses, creating treatment plans, prescribing medical regimens, and educating patients and families. The APP may also perform approved procedures, order medications, and act as a clinical team leader to manage deteriorating patients. They will integrate evidence-based practice and technological advances, and may participate in research, data collection, quality improvement, discharge planning, and care coordination. The role also focuses on facilitating patient throughput, optimizing patient outcomes, length of stay, and patient satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Masters Degree
  • Valid Florida APRN License (for APRNs)
  • Nurse Practitioner National certification (for APRNs)
  • DEA License
  • BLS Certification
  • 3 years of relevant nursing experience required (for APRNs)
  • Must be compliant with state of Florida requirements for CEUs and licensure (for APRNs)
  • Must obtain medical staff credentialing and privileges as needed for practice location
  • Valid Florida PA License (for PAs)
  • NCCPA Certification (for PAs)
  • Must be compliant with state of Florida requirements for CMEs and licensure (for PAs)

Responsibilities

  • Directly manages the care of complex acutely ill patients via face-to-face, telehealth, or other communication devices.
  • Performs patient assessments, H & Ps, and takes a thorough medical history.
  • Orders and interprets laboratory and diagnostic tests.
  • Develops medical diagnoses and appropriate treatment plans.
  • Prescribes medical regimen and educates patients/family regarding diagnosis and plan of care.
  • Performs approved procedures and orders medications as indicated in the Delineation of Privileges.
  • Works directly with physicians, staff, administration, patients and families to ensure quality of care.
  • Acts as a clinical team leader that intervenes and manages deteriorating patients.
  • Integrates evidence-based practice and technological advances into their scope of practice.
  • May participate in research initiatives, data collection, quality improvement, discharge planning, and coordination of patient care.
  • Participates in and facilitates patient throughput, optimal patient outcomes, optimal length of stay and improved patient satisfaction.
