About The Position

APP position available to work at the Clinic for Specialty Pain Services at Meadville Medical Center with Dr. Anthony Colantonio, board certified anesthesiologist and fellowship trained pain management physician. The patient population is comprised mostly of patients with chronic musculoskeletal pain, the majority of which involves spinal pathology. Other conditions treated include chronic neuropathic pain. Treatment modalities are focused primarily upon non-surgical management of pain including fluoroscopic and ultrasound guided injections by Dr. Colantonio, non-opioid medications, and controlled medications. The scope of the practice is expanding to offer regenerative treatments including prolotherapy and platelet rich plasma. The practice is an outpatient clinic with appointments scheduled Monday – Friday with no weekend hours required in the clinic. Call is once a week and one weekend per month. Opportunity for APP to accompany Dr. Colantonio to the operating room for spinal cord stimulator implant surgeries.

Requirements

Board certified anesthesiologist and fellowship trained pain management physician (Dr. Colantonio's credentials, implying APP should have similar or complementary qualifications)
Detailed musculoskeletal and neuro exam skills
Ability to order diagnostic imaging
Ability to make referrals
Ability to triage and return phone calls
Ability to submit electronic prescriptions
Ability to review the prescription drug monitoring program
Experience in pain management

Responsibilities

Conduct new and follow up office visits consisting of detailed musculoskeletal and neuro exam
Order diagnostic imaging
Make referrals when necessary
Triage and return phone calls from patients
Submit electronic prescriptions and review the prescription drug monitoring program when applicable
Accompany Dr. Colantonio to the operating room for spinal cord stimulator implant surgeries
