About The Position

UPMC Presbyterian is seeking a dedicated Inpatient Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Neurosurgery department. This position will be responsible for managing inpatient floor-level and select emergency department (ED) patients, working alongside a large, multidisciplinary team that includes 16 APPs and 28 residents. The APP will have autonomous management of a designated patient population while collaborating closely with a team of neurosurgery attendings, residents, and APPs. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a high-volume, academic medical center with a strong emphasis on collaborative care and professional growth. Our department is the largest neurosurgical academic provider in the United States, performing more than 12,000 procedures annually. Our facilities include the most technologically-advanced equipment—modern surgical microscopes, advanced image-guided brain and spine navigational tools, state-of-the-art monitoring techniques—improving patient outcomes by reducing operative complications. Our patients spend less time in the hospital than almost any neurosurgical center in the world. In some cases, surgery that previously required seven-day in-hospital stays can now be done on an outpatient basis. Requirements

Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP): The successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program is required.
Current state RN license and CRNP certification are required.
National certification, eligible for licensure by Pennsylvania board of nursing, eligible for certification as a CRNP by Pennsylvania state board of nursing.
Current CPR certification is required.
Act 34 Clearance required.
Physician Assistant (PA): A graduate of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the physician assistant (ARC-PA) is required.
Current state PA license certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required.
Current CPR certification is required.
Act 34 Clearance required.

Nice To Haves

BSN, MSN is preferred.
Professional nursing experience and/or nurse practitioner experience is preferred.
ACNP certification preferred.
BS or MS candidate is preferred.
Experience as a physician assistant and/or experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
