Advanced Practice Professional - Hematology/Oncology
About The Position
Join a brand-new Hematology/Oncology practice in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, and help establish and grow a new service line. The Advanced Practice Professional practices with a high degree of autonomy alongside an experienced Hematology/Oncology physician in a collaborative, supportive environment, contributing to patient management and clinic operations. The role serves adult patients in an outpatient setting, with manageable volumes averaging approximately nine patients per day. Comprehensive onboarding and mentorship include structured education, shadowing, and a gradual ramp-up. This is a part-time position scheduled Wednesday through Friday, with no call responsibilities currently required.
Requirements
- Master’s degree for Nurse Practitioner applicants; Bachelor’s degree required and Master’s degree preferred for Physician Assistant applicants.
- One year of work experience required.
- Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner upon hire, or Licensed Physician Assistant upon hire.
- Basic Life Support certification upon hire, or Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification upon hire.
- For Nurse Practitioners: board certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center Commission on Certification and completion of an accredited nurse practitioner program, required upon hire.
- For Physician Assistants: graduation from an accredited physician assistant program, required upon hire.
- BLS and/or ACLS training, as appropriate for the clinical role.
Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient oncology and hematology care, including follow-up visits and hematology patient care.
- Conduct treatment preparation visits and triage patients.
- Educate patients about oral chemotherapy.
- Contribute to patient management and clinic operations in the new practice.
