Advanced Practice Professional - Hematology/Oncology
About The Position
WellSpan Health is hiring an Advanced Practice Professional for its Hematology/Oncology team in the West Region. This newly created position is driven by practice growth and joins a growing team with established physician and nurse practitioner support and expanding medical oncology coverage. New graduates are encouraged to apply, and the practice is open to training and developing nurse practitioners or physician assistants interested in oncology and hematology. The role is primarily outpatient and includes follow-up visits, pre-treatment evaluations, acute visits, and patient triage. The APP works collaboratively with physicians and fellow advanced practice providers while contributing independently to patient care. The practice is based in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, with occasional travel opportunities to Waynesboro and Chambersburg Hospital. The schedule is Monday through Friday, five 8-hour shifts, with no routine call requirement and only occasional after-hours telephone triage support if needed. Patient volume is approximately up to 12 adult patients per day.
Requirements
- Work experience: 1 year required.
- For nurse practitioners: master's degree required.
- For physician assistants: bachelor's degree required; a master's degree is preferred.
- Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner upon hire, or Licensed Physician Assistant upon hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire, or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) upon hire, as appropriate for the clinical role.
- For nurse practitioners: board certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center Commission on Certification upon hire.
- For nurse practitioners: completion of an accredited nurse practitioner program upon hire.
- For physician assistants: graduation from an accredited physician assistant program upon hire.

Responsibilities
