About The Position

Prime Healthcare Illinois Medical Group is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join its Hematology/Oncology team at St. Mary's Hospital in Kankakee, Illinois. This full-time, day-shift role provides outpatient care in a collaborative, patient-centered environment serving a diverse patient population. Requirements

• Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Illinois.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• Oncology nursing experience is strongly preferred.
• New graduates with an oncology RN background may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in outpatient Hematology/Oncology settings under physician supervision.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop treatment plans, and manage care for oncology and hematology patients.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and monitor treatment response.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, side effects, and ongoing care.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other care team members to coordinate patient-centered care.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation using EMR systems.
