About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of Physician Recruitment, the Advanced Practice Recruiter is responsible for recruiting NPs, PAs, and CRNAs for the system. The successful candidate must have excellent organizational skills including spreadsheet management. In addition, superb written and verbal communication skills are required. Must be able to interface daily with Division and Department Chairs and Hospital leaders. Responsible for sourcing and attracting candidates and facilitating and coordinating interviews, accompanying Advanced Practitioners when interviewing, negotiating compensation and benefits, and subsequently managing the offer letter process. Additionally, the Advanced Practice Recruiter is responsible for continuous coordination of recruitment reports provided to senior leadership at LHMC, Northeast Health, and Winchester Hospital detailing MD and AP recruitment activity: open positions, current candidate details, pending offers, attrition, and estimated credentialing time frames. The APR researches and identifies best recruitment practices, participates in process improvement, and serves as the recruitment expert for Advanced Practice recruiting, while consulting with Compensation, HRIS, Legal, Finance, the Medical Staff Office, and Benefits and other experts as needed. Provides Department Chairs and administrative leaders with superior recruitment services for advanced practitioners in his/her respective service lines system-wide. Also responsible for a warm hand-off to the onboarding team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Minimum of 2 year of experience working in healthcare recruitment or 4 years of experience in human resources, recruitment, or a related field.
  • Proven success with creating collaborative solutions in a time sensitive, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to navigate and influence within a large, matrixed system.

Responsibilities

  • Recruits, screens, coordinates and schedules provider candidates for interviews with members of the Division, Department and Division Chairs, CMO’s and Physician and Administrative leaders for Beth Israel Lahey Health System locations.
  • Prepares provider offer letters and marshals them through the review and approval process, fielding questions from Chairs, senior leadership and legal on aspects of contracts prior to executing the agreements.
  • Coordinates information necessary for credentialing and onboarding and forwards to appropriate physician leaders and the Medical Staff Office.
  • Serves as a point of contact for questions/issues from prospective and newly hired providers.
  • Develops and maintains working knowledge of the health system and regional communities in order to effectively recruit candidates.
  • Works with Division Chairs and SLDs to profile positions and develop practice opportunity descriptions and ensures that opportunities are posted appropriately with association job boards.
  • Maintains provider recruitment reports for senior leadership and participates in presentations to same on a weekly basis.
  • Develops and maintains an effective working knowledge of local physician and advanced practitioner employment agreements, employment process, offer packages, compensation and benefits to answer candidate questions as needed.
  • Works with Compensation to ensure that provider offers are in line with market and internal ranges.
  • Continually develops and improves upon processes, procedures, policies and techniques to recruit providers. Maintains up to date knowledge and compliance with federal and state fair employment laws and guidelines.
  • Participates in other duties and responsibilities as assigned in order to recruit and retain providers.

  • On a need-to-know basis has routine exposure and access to highly confidential information related to departmental budget, strategic plans, and confidential staff information.
  • Composes, edits, and proofreads a variety of correspondence, provider and vendor contracts, reports and forms.
  • Assists with facilitation and coordination of certain required activities such as new hire department orientation.
  • Performs all other duties as needed or directed to meet the needs of the department.
