Responsible for the day-to-day operation of a Neurosciences lab with the Le Bonheur Neuroscience Institute. Performs advanced and non-invasive procedures to monitor and measure brain magnetic activity and activation. Monitors and records electrophysiological data using various techniques, equipment, and procedures. Assists with research studies within the lab. Interacts and cares for seizure and brain tumor patients including but not limited to, Parkinson's patients. TMS technician will be available for MEG and EEG as deemed necessary by the manager. Requirements

  • Required - Bachelor's Degree Neuroscience
  • Required - Bachelor's Degree Psychology
  • Required - No prior work experience
  • Required - BASIC LIFE SUPPORT - American Heart Association
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Word and Excel).
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to assist decision making.
  • Ability to participate as a team member as well as to work without close supervision and to exercise independent judgment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and follow up appropriately.
  • Ability to understand and prepare complex written materials, such as patient records.
  • Ability to communicate verbally with all levels of Associates and management, physicians and patients and their families.
  • Ability to organize multiple tasks and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Performs advanced and non- invasive procedures.
  • Assists the Principal Investigator in conducting clinic tests as well as research studies within the lab.
  • Assists with promoting quality of patient care and cost effectiveness within the department through proper utilization of equipment, supplies, labor and communication.
  • Demonstrates initiative in identifying opportunities for self-development and enhancement of professional competency.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
