About The Position

As a mechanical engineer for SLCM-N, you’ll be a member of a cross functional team dedicated to the development of military-grade electronics for the Sea-Launched Cruise Missile–Nuclear (SLCM-N) Navy program. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Strong proficiency with CREO modeling CAD tools to create mechanical models and drawings
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods, as well as technical, government, and industry standards
  • Collaborative, creative thinker with experience leading complex projects
  • Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation
  • Strong communication skills with ability to write technical papers and proposals

Nice To Haves

  • Electrical Hardware design experience a plus
  • Schematic generation a plus
  • Cable and harness design preferred
  • Experience with ruggedized electronics packaging for shipboard applications a plus
  • Experience with GD&T (ASME Y14.5) a plus

Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze components and electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Create and maintain mechanical solid models and drawings
  • Create and manage bills of material (BOM) within data management system
  • Generate design and interface documentation
  • Develop technical presentations, recommendations, and written communications to explain technical issues to program management and the Navy customer
  • Participate in various technical and program meetings on a weekly basis
