Advanced Mechanical Engineer
About The Position
As a mechanical engineer on the Surface Ships program, you’ll lead a cross functional team responsible for Designing, Testing, Implementing, Building, and Installing equipment on Surface Ships. We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences: Electromechanical equipment design, Electronics Packaging design, Production Support, Installation Support, Environmental Testing, Modeling & Analysis, and/or Drawing development. What sets you apart: Strong proficiency with modeling CAD tools to create mechanical models and drawings Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods, as well as technical, government, and industry standards Collaborative, creative thinker with experience leading complex projects Strong communication skills with ability to write technical papers and proposals Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire.
- Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
