Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent military or formal training with a strong understanding of automation assembly and test equipment.
  • Three (3) years of experience in an automated manufacturing operations environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage projects, collaborating cross-functionally to deliver results on time.
  • General knowledge of automation controls and the ability to interface with PLCs, HMIs, robots, vision systems, and related software.
  • Experience using modeling software to develop 3D models and 2D prints, utilizing GD&T and tolerancing to clearly communicate design intent.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate Automation Performance: Analyze automation assembly and test equipment performance to identify root causes of downtime and yield losses. Develop and implement effective countermeasures.
  • Hands-On Equipment Improvement: Participate in the hands-on build, modification, and validation of automation equipment to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify & Prioritize Improvements: Collaborate with operations to assess machine utilization, prioritize opportunities, and maintain a roadmap of automation improvements.
  • Mechanical & Automation Installation: Support mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic automation equipment build, installation, and validation activities.
  • Improve Equipment Design: Partner with cross- functional stakeholders to enhance automation equipment designs using best practices and lessons learned.
  • Drive Process Improvements: Execute projects to maximize equipment OEE, working closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Scheduling, and Advanced Manufacturing teams in a controlled environment.
  • Support Operations: Provide periodic hands-on support to operations teams to resolve recurring issues while identifying long-term improvement opportunities.
