About The Position

Apple Inc. is hiring an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer in Cupertino, California, and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. The role is responsible for designing precision assembly and measurement processes for Apple products and researching and developing technologies to address complex assembly and automation problems affecting product quality and delivery. The engineer designs, implements, and scales automated and semi-automated solutions using sound engineering principles and application-specific technologies, and develops improved processes to enhance quality and efficiency. The role organizes cross-functional reviews of machine requirements, design, qualification, and capability, and prepares data-analysis reports communicating machine capability to multifunctional teams. It creates RFQs and RFPs documenting automated-equipment design requirements, delivery schedules, required documentation, and acceptance qualification at machine supplier facilities and contract manufacturer factories. The engineer drives machine qualification, including correlation, process capability (CP/CPK), and Gage Repeatability/Reproducibility (GR&R), and leads failure analysis and machine issue resolution with suppliers and contract manufacturers. International travel of 30% is required. The position is 40 hours per week. The base pay range is $163,500–$246,200 per year, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
