About The Position

Work closely with engineering teams throughout the entire development cycle to ensure that designs are robust and manufacturable in high volumes. This includes ensuring Contract Manufacturer (CM) readiness, and working with CapEx, Fixture (Automation / Manual), and Factory teams to ensure necessary assembly fixtures and test stations are in place and qualified. The role involves ensuring Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for product assembly are ready and operators are trained. You will lead teams to triage yield issues, drive Failure Analysis (FA) to determine root causes (Design/Process/Part-quality), and ensure responsible teams address them. This position requires synthesizing program information (product readiness for mass production, factory readiness, trade-offs, impact on development milestones) into concise communications for Senior Management. 20% international travel is required. The standard work week is 40 hours.

Requirements

• Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field and 9 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
• Creating Request for Quotation/Proposal (RFQ/RFPs) that document design requirements.
• Using machine qualification data including calibration, correlation, capability, repeatability to enable automated equipment.
• Using experience in new product introduction and Manufacturing Operations to develop automated equipment and products able to be assembled automatically.
• Working knowledge of GD&T principles for automated equipment design.
• Using Knowledge of optics principles as they relate to CCD cameras, 2D and 1D lasers, and their use or positioning and critical alignment machines to build new products.
• Applying knowledge of robotics (6-axis and/or SCARA), pneumatics, servo motors, motion controllers, PLC and PC-based control systems to build new products.
• Utilizing Keynote or any presentation programs to create slides that summarize technically complex issues to an audience with wide ranging backgrounds.
• Using JMP to plot statistical distribution of manufacturing process and analyze performance.

Responsibilities

• Synthesize information on the program (product readiness for mass production, factory readiness, relevant, trade-offs, impact on development milestones) into concise communication for Senior Management.
