About The Position

As an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer Senior Advanced here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will drive advanced manufacturing strategies, optimize processes, and implement cutting-edge technologies to achieve operational excellence and innovation. You will report directly to our Sr Adv Mfg Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Torrance, CA location on a Hybrid work schedule following 90 days of onsite training. Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) – New Product Introduction (NPI) is Honeywell’s organizational link between Integrated Supply Chain and the product development functions of Engineering, Program Management, and the Strategic Business Units. AME-NPI participates in the execution of new product development programs to ensure product cost, capability, and producibility targets are achieved. Specifically, this involves evaluations of the design, the supply base, the product cost, the manufacturing factory, the manufacturing process capability, and the manufacturing yield of an end item product. Knowledge of the HON Aerospace processes for Integrated Product Delivery and Support (IPDS), and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) are required. The current specific opportunity is in the mechanical aerospace component design market space. This position requires on-site presence at the HON facility located in Torrance, CA.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee advanced manufacturing processes to ensure quality, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize production processes and drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement advanced manufacturing technologies and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Manage Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) items to meet IPDS goals.
  • Analyze manufacturing data and metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Interface with Engineering and Sourcing to identify Suppliers meeting capacity, cost, and capability goals.
  • Identify and manage new product assembly, test, or tooling Capital needs.
  • Drive DFM (Manufacturing, Assembly, Test, Lean) activities.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members.
