About The Position

This position is for an Advanced IT Security Specialist located on-site at Scott Air Force Base, near St. Louis, MO. The role involves hands-on work with the system development life cycle and Risk Management Framework (RMF), implementing Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), and conducting security assessments of mission-critical systems. The specialist will be responsible for building RMF documentation, conducting vulnerability scans, and collaborating with various teams and stakeholders to address cybersecurity challenges. This position is open to Veterans, Transitioning Military, National Guard and Reserve Members, Military Spouses, Wounded Warriors, and their Caregivers.

Requirements

  • Expertise in software engineering and cybersecurity frameworks like NIST SP 800-37 and 800-53.
  • Experience with STIGs, security policies, and vulnerability assessments for different systems and devices.
  • Hands-on technical experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Application Security and Development (ASD) STIG, static code analysis.
  • Proficiency in developing RMF documentation and performing compliance scans.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • A Secret security clearance (Top Secret preferred), plus an active Security+ or CISSP certification.
  • Master's degree, plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related specialized area or equivalent relevant experience is required, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on work with the system development life cycle and Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Implementing Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and running security assessments of a mission critical system.
  • Building RMF documentation, including security plans, testing plans, and compliance analysis.
  • Conducting vulnerability scans and compliance checks in a DevSecOps environment.
  • Collaborating with teams, customers, and stakeholders to solve complex cybersecurity challenges.
